VA Education Benefits Overview

The University is approved for certification of students eligible to receive educational assistance from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). The DVA determines eligibility for Veterans (VA) educational assistance. Veterans and Active Duty Service Members students may use these benefits toward approved undergraduate and graduate programs, subject to individual eligibility and program requirements.

Andrews University does not determine benefit eligibility or coverage amounts. Our goal is to be the liaison between the VA or Military Benefit and the school. The process is owned by the VA. Students using VA education benefits are encouraged to work directly with Andrews University Veterans Services to receive accurate, up-to-date guidance throughout the enrollment and certification process.

Veterans Services Support

Students using VA education benefits work with designated university staff who assist with VA certification processes, required documentation, and ongoing certification-related coordination.

Financial Guidance

Student Financial Services staff are available to help explain student accounts and additional financial aid options when applicable. VA certification, benefit coordination, and billing related to VA education benefits are handled through Andrews University Veterans Services.

Academic Advising

Academic advisors help students understand program requirements, course planning, and degree pathways based on individual academic goals.

Student Support and Community

Military-connected students can access campus and student support resources that contribute to a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

How the Review Process Works

01

Submit Documentation

Students provide official transcripts and, when applicable, military training or prior learning documentation for review.

Academic Evaluation

Submitted materials are reviewed by the appropriate academic departments and the registrar in accordance with university policies.

03

Credit Application

Approved transfer credits are applied toward degree requirements where applicable.

Important Note

Not all prior learning or training will result in transferable credit. Credit decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and may vary by academic program.
